Nick has had quite the EXCITING week! Last night, after spending a week with his scout troop up at Camp Maple Dell, everyone on the mountain was immediately evacuated because a fire was burning over in the next canyon. Football started the same day they left for scout camp. Since they arrived home a day early, Nick was anxiously excited to get up and go to football practice this morning. After a whole 20 minutes of practice, he got "popped pretty good." (as his dad would say) Nick ended up spending the rest of the morning in the ER waiting for an x-ray that revealed 2 broken bones in his left leg. Well...that was a short season! Poor guy. He is pretty disappointed about a broken leg and no play this season, however, proud of the "gnarly" x-ray he now has to show all the ladies.

MEANWHILE...Ryan has enjoyed his first week. (injury free...but knock on wood please) Let me show you an example of why I LOVE watching Ryan, our teddy bear, play football.
1. Ryan pummels the kid!

2. Helps him back up to his feet.

3. Pats him on the back.

4. Gets ready for more!

Melts my heart every time!
